Reading Rainbow: 3rd Grader Hannah

WOUB-TV announced the local 2008 Reading Rainbow Young Writers and Illustrators Contest winners. Children from kindergarten through the third grade in more than 30 counties participated in the local contest. The contest was open for entries from January to March 2008 and the winners were chosen from 178 entries. The guidelines for the contest instructed children to write and illustrate their own story. Illustrators, publishers, and educators from surrounding areas judged the entrants.

All entrants received a book donated by WOUB and a “Reading Rainbow” certificate of achievement signed by Reading Rainbow host, LeVar Burton. Here is one of the local winners! 3rd Grader Hannah reads her story “The Princess Race Car Driver”
