Educational Standards
The RSA General Guide to K-12 Course of Study
Academic levels have been grouped below into multi-year ranges, to accommodate regional differences in the order of study of the various topics below. Students are not restricted by age, and may post scholastic projects in topics above or below their current grade.
As in any school, the teacher’s educational approach may take precedence over the list below. Variation in high school studies (e.g., “electives” throughout grades 8 or 9 through 12) are also expected. For purposes of comparison and reference, a linked list of specific regional educational standards are available at right.
Regardless, a significant number of projects are encouraged, which indicate both quantitative and qualitative understanding, and which demonstrate mastery of major topics within each Subject area. These can be posted on Show and Know, if desired by teacher and student. Cum laude honors may be awarded to students who have shown outstanding accomplishments in their studies and projects.
Again, as in any school, the students and teachers themselves bear ultimate responsibility to make the most of their educational opportunities. We hope the Royal Scholars Academy system, coupled with Show and Know’s online portfolios, will motivate students to demonstrate their best accomplishments, so that they will do their very best throughout their academic studies.
